Water Recycling and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Plant

ETP + RO

Effluent Treatment & Water Recovery

Ahinsa Denim employs state-of-the-art Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems to safeguard water resources and maintain environmental responsibility.

ETP + RO – Primary Wastewater Reuse

Our ETP purifies industrial effluent, recovering 97% of wastewater for reuse in denim production. Reverse Osmosis (RO) is integrated for additional treatment, enabling a recovery volume of 1.2 million liters per day. This ensures that 97% of the treated water is effectively reused in the production process.

MEE – Salt Recovery & Zero Liquid Discharge

The remaining 3% of water is treated via Multiple Effect Evaporator (MEE), converting residual effluent into industrial-grade salt, ensuring complete zero liquid discharge.

MEE Salt Recovery
Condensate Recovery

Condensate Recovery – Steam to Water

In our production process, steam is recovered using an advanced Condensate Recovery System equipped with a Flash Jet Pump, which captures and converts steam condensate back into usable water. This not only significantly reduces freshwater consumption but also enhances overall thermal efficiency across the facility.

Rainwater Harvesting

Rainwater harvesting systems collect monsoon rain to supplement water needs and recharge groundwater, supporting sustainable operations and reducing reliance on external sources.

Reuse of Treated Water

Reuse of Treated waste water for Plantation & Toilets

At Ahinsa Denim, treated wastewater is also reused for non-potable applications such as toilet flushing across our facilities. This responsible reuse further reduces freshwater demand and aligns with our holistic approach to water conservation.

  • Reduces dependency on fresh water
  • Optimizes treated water utility
  • Supports efficient facility operations

Caustic Recovery Plant (CRP)

Our Caustic Recovery Plant (CRP) plays a vital role in sustainable denim processing. It allows us to recover and reuse caustic soda (NaOH) used in washing processes, reducing both chemical consumption and environmental impact.

  • Recovers used caustic from washing lines
  • Reduces fresh chemical requirement
  • Minimizes chemical discharge in effluent
